Narrator: Long ago, in ancient China, the Peacocks ruled over Gongmen City.
They brought great joy and prosperity to the city for they had invented fireworks.
But their son, Lord Shen, saw darker power in the fireworks. What had brought colour
and joy could also bring darkness and destruction. Shen's troubled parents consulted
a soothsayer. She foretold that if Shen continued down this dark path, he would be
defeated by a warrior of black and white. The young lord set out to change his fate.
But what he did next only sealed it. Shen returned to his parents full of pride.
But in their faces, he saw only horror. He was banished from the city forever.
But Shen swore revenge. Someday he would return and all of China would
bow at his feet.
먼 옛날, 고대 중국에서는, 공작 일가가 공멘시를 통치했다. 그들은 폭죽을 발명함으로써
공멘시에 환희와 번영을 가져왔다. 하지만 그들의 아들 쉔은 폭죽에서 어두운 힘을 봤다.
색깔과 환희를 가져다 준 것이 어둠과 파괴도 같이 가져온 것이었다. 고민에 빠진 쉔의 부모는
예언가를 찾아갔다. 예언가는 쉔이 계속해서 어두운 길로만 간다면 점박이 얼룩 전사에게 패할
것이라고 예언했다. 젊은 통치자는 자신의 운명을 바꾸는 일에 착수했다. 하지만 그가 이후에
한 일은 단지 자신의 운명을 결정지을 뿐이었다. 쉔은 자신감에 부푼 채 부모를 다시 찾아왔다.
하지만 부모의 얼굴엔 공포만이 보였다. 쉔은 공멘시에서 영원히 추방되었다. 하지만 쉔은 복수를
다짐했고, 언제간 다시 돌아오는 날엔 전 중국이 자신의 발 밑에서 머리를 조아릴 것이다.

*이유를 나타내는 for와 because
―because는 「왜냐하면」처럼 객관적 원인을 직접적으로 말하는 강한 말로, 주절보다도 because 절 쪽에 의미의 중점이 있다. for는 「…, 그 이유는」 처럼 주관적 이유를 부가적으로 말하는 경우에 쓴다. because는 종속 접속사이고, for는 등위(等位) 접속사이다.

/You should not smoke, for you are still under age.
*The leaders set out to inspire the rank and file to greater productivity.
지도자들은 일반 대중들을 고무시켜 생산성을 향상시키는 일에 착수했다.
/He has set out to get revenge. 그는 복수를 결심했다.
*Your casual words have sealed his fate. 네가 어쩌다 한 말이 그의 운명을 결정해 버렸다.
Wolf Boss: It's almost done, Lord Shen, but we've run out of metal.
거의 다 됐습니다, 쉔 주인님. 하지만 쇠붙이가 바닥이 났습니다.
*Exhaust a supply or quantity of …을 다 써버리다, (물건이) 바닥나다 ,
as in We're about to run out of coffee and sugar.
Shen: Search the farthest villages! Find more metal! China will be mine.
구석구석 마을들을 뒤져라! 더 많은 쇠붙이를 찾아! 중국은 내 것이 될 것이다!
Bunny: And then the Dragon Warrior joined the Furious Five!
그리고는 그 용의 전사는 무적의 5인방에 합류했어!
Pig: And they became the most awesomest kung fu team ever!
그들은 역사상 가장 대단한 쿵푸 팀이 됐지.
Bunny: Enough talk. Let's fight!
말은 집어 치우고, 덤벼!
V.O.: Thirty-three... 33…
Bunny: Listen, listen! You can hear the Dragon Warrior training right now!
들어 봐, 어서! 용의 전사가 지금 훈련하는 소리가 들려!
V.O.: Thirty-three. Stop him! 34. 그만하라 그래!
V.O.: Thirty-four. 34.
V.O.: It's too dangerous! 너무 위험하다고!
Tigress: Thirty-five. Stay focused. 35. 집중해 계속!
V.O.: Thirty-six! 36!
Tigress: Thirty-seven! 37!
V.O.: Yeah! 그래!
Mantis: How is he doing that with his face?
저 얼굴을 하고도 어떻게 저럴 수 있지?
Po: Thirty-eight bean buns!
단팥방 38개!
*팥만두bun with a bean-jam filling; a bean-jam bun / 찐빵 steamed bun with red bean paste filling/ 붕어빵 a bean-jam bun in the shape of a crucian (carp); a fish-shaped bun
Mantis: Yes! New record! You monster!
그래! 새 기록이다! 이 괴물아!
Monkey: Keep going! Hit 40! 계속해! 40개 채워!
Crane: He'll never hit 40. 40개는 절대 못 채워.
Po: You guys wait and we'll go to 40.
기다려 40개 간다.
Tigress: Do it. 어서 해.
Po: No problem! Yeah! Give me a minute.
문제 없어. 그래! 조그만 기다려.
All: Yeah! 그래!
Mantis: He did it! 해냈어!
Crane: Well done, Po! 잘했어, 포!
Tigress: Your training has paid off.
훈련한 게 성과가 있구나.
*Pay off one's debts/a loan/a mortgage. 빚/대부금/융자금을 청산하다
/The gamble paid off. 그 도박은 수지가 맞았다.
/The company took a gamble by cutting the price of their products, and it paid off.
그 회사는 상품의 가격을 깎는 도박을 감행했는데 그것이 성과가 있었다.
Po: Master Shifu! Gotta go. See you later! You'll save those for me, right?
시푸 사부님! 가봐야 해. 나중에 봐. 참, 나중에 먹게 남겨 둬.
