껑충 뛰어 올라 총알이라도 대신 맞아 줄 것 같더라.
*the way=how
: the way의 뒤에 절이 올 경우 문법적으로는 the way in which 로 되어야 하지만 형식에 치우친 표현이며,
구어에서는 in which를 생략하여 the way 를 접속사처럼 쓴다.
/This is the way I have done it. 이런 방식으로 나는 그 일을 했다.
/ It is the way he says it that makes me angry. 그의 그런 말투가 나를 화나게 한다

Bella: I didn't want you spending you're money.

Renee: I didn't, come on. 안 썼어. 자.
Bella: Are these all our old trip T-shirts?

Renee: Emm.
Bella: Get out! 설마!
*Expression of incredulity:

Renee: I saved'em all. I thought they'd make a good quilt. To keep you warm up in Alaska.
