지해수:  이제 서른 한 번. Make it 31 now.

 

 

[She attempts to storm out, Jae-yeol restrains her and pushes her against the wall]

 

지해수:  너 더 맞을래? You wanna get slapped again?

장재열:  옛날에 어떤 마을에…A long time ago in a village…

깊고 깊은 동굴이 하나 있었어.

There was a deep, dark cave.

그 동굴에는, In the cave,

천년 동안 단 한번도 빛이 든 적이 없었지.

Light hadn’t entered for a thousand years.

 

지해수:  무슨 개소리야?   What gibberish is this?

 

장재열:  천 년의 어둠이 쌓인 깊은 동굴.

A deep, dark cave filled with darkness for a thousand years.

사람들은 그 어둠을 무척이나 두려워했지.

People really feared that darkness.

지금 너처럼. Like you now.

하지만 빛이 드는 건 지금처럼 한 순간이야.

However, for a light to enter like now, it only takes a second.

네가 30년 동안 사랑을 못했다 해도

Even if you’ve never experienced love for 30 years,

300일 동안 공들인 사랑이 끝났다 해도

Even if your love of 300 days us over,

괜찮다고.  It’s okay.

다시 사랑을 느끼는 건 한 순간일 테니까.

It only takes one moment to feel love again.

 

지해수:  너는 도대체 그 깐죽은 어디서 배우니?

Where did you learn to talk provokingly like that?

 

장재열:  대부분 남자들 뺨 맞고 배워.

Most men learn it by being slapped.

다음에 사랑을 하면 그냥 느껴봐.

The next time you fall in love, just let yourself feel it.

계획하지 말고 다짐하지 말고.
