오초림: 나 경찰서에 왜 데리고 온 거에요?

Why did you bring me to the police station?

 

최무각:  지금 보따리 내 놓으라는 거야?

Are you complaining?

*물에 빠진 사람 건져주니 보따리 내놓으라 한다

취해서 집을 못 찾으니까 그랬지.

You were so drunk you couldn’t find your home.

 

오초림: 그쪽이 나한테 얼마나 몹쓸 짓 한 거 알아요?

Did you know how much you wronged me?

나 극단에서 쫓겨났다구요.

I got kicked out of the theater group.

 

최무각:  어제는 괜찮다고, 이해한다고 하지 않았나?

You said you’re okay and understood last night?

 

오초림: 나 이해 못하고 하나도 안 괜찮아요.

I don’t understand and I’m not okay at all.

내 인생 끝났으니까. My life is over.

어제는 내가 취해서 그냥 넘어갈 뻔했는데,

I almost let it go since I was so drunk last night,

지금은 해야겠어요. But I’ll say it now.

 

 

 

최무각:  그래, 속 시원하게 다해봐. Fine. Let it all out.

*"When someone did me wrong and I'm angry, I cry and sputter, but I usually let it all out, even if it's my loss." 화가 나고 억울할 땐 눈물부터 나오고 계속 버벅거리지만 내 살을 깎아먹는 결과를 가져오더라도 모든 걸 다 털어놓는 편이다.

 

[She gives him a slap, then a full-on fist to the jaw]

오초림: 아, 아퍼. It hurts.

참 그렇지, 그쪽은 아픈 것 느끼지도 못하죠.

Ah, right, you don’t feel any pain at all, right?

나는 극단에서 쫓겨나서 이렇게 분하고 서운하고 가슴 아파 죽겠는데.

I’m angry, sad and my heart is breaking apart

for getting kicked out of the group.

나만 아프잖아. But I’m the only one hurting.

나 그쪽 땜에 완전 망했어요.

I’m completely ruined because of you.

이젠 두 번 다시 볼 일 없겠네요. No need to see you again.
