War Department telegraph office, late night
There is commotion and anxiety apparent in the telegraph office as Secretary of War Edwin Stanton,
Secretary of Navy Gideon Welles and telegraph officer Thomas Eckert discuss the assault on Fort Fisher.
Man: Fort Fisher is ours. We've taken the port.
피셔 요새는 우리 겁니다. 함락 시켰습니다.
Welles: And Wilmington? 윌밍튼은?
Man: We've taken the fort, but the city of Wilmington has not surrendered.
거기도 함락시켰습니다. 그런데 윌밍튼 시는 아직 항복하지 않았습니다.
Stanton: How many casualties? 사상자는 얼마나 되나?

Democratic congressman Fernando Wood discusses the aftermath of the bloody assault on Fort Fisher
with one of his colleagues while Radical Republican leaders gather among themselves.
Pendleton: Heavy losses. And more to come. 막대한 병력 손실. 더 많은 손실 예상.
Wood: It sours the national mood. It might suffice to discourage…

Get him to proclaim what we all know he believes in his coal-colored heart. That this vote is meant to set the black race on high, to niggerate America...
