Sheldon (on phone): This is Dr Sheldon Cooper. Yeah, I need to cancel my membership to the Planetarium. Yeah, well I’m sorry too, but there’s just no room for you in my wallet. Yeah, I understand, but it was between you and the Museum of Natural History and, frankly, you don’t have dinosaurs. Well I’ll miss you too, bye bye. Okay, I know you’re texting about me, and I’d really like you to stop.
전 쉘든쿠퍼 박사입니다. 플라네타륨 회원 탈퇴하려고요. 네 저도 죄송합니다만 제 지갑에 당신들 회원카드 들어 갈 자리가 없어서요.
이해합니다만, 당신들 하고 자연사 박물관 중에 골라야 해서요, 솔직히 당신들은 공룡이 없잖아요. 저도 그리울 거에요. 그럼. 좋아, 내 얘기로 문자 주고 받는 거 알아. 이제 그만해 줬으면 좋겠어.
Raj (entering): Oh dear, I am rightly and truly screwed.
이런, 나 정말 큰일났어.

Leonard: Hey, I thought you were finding new friends.
안녕, 너 새 친구 찾는 줄 알았는데.
Raj: I’ve got some feelers out. In the meantime, listen to this.
몇 명 타진 중이야. 그때까진, 이거 좀 들어봐 줘.
*throw out a feeler[＝put out feelers] 타진[염탐]하다.
Lalita (voice from Raj’s phone): Hi Rajesh, this is Lalita Gupta. Your mother gave my mother your phone number to give to me. So I’m calling you, and, ah… call me back. Bye.
안녕, 라즈, 난 랄리타 굽타야. 네 어머니께서 나 주라고 우리 엄마한테 네 연락처 주셨더라. 그래서 전화하는 거야.
전화 줘. 안녕.
Raj: Can you believe how pushy she is? 얼마나 밀어 부치는 지 알겠니?
Leonard: So don’t call her. 그럼 전화 하지마.
Raj: If I don’t call her, I won’t hear the end of it from my parents.
전화 안 하면 부모님한테 귀가 닳도록 잔소리 들어야 해.

Leonard: So call her. 그럼 전화 해.
Raj: How can I call her? You know I can’t talk to women.

Leonard: I’m done, anybody else? 난 할 일 다했어, 누구 또 없어?
Howard: Give me the phone. 전화기 이리 줘.
Raj: Why? 왜?
Howard: Just give it to me. (Dials) 그냥 주기나 해.
Raj: What are you doing?
Howard: Don’t worry, you’ll thank me. (In a fake Indian accent) Hello Lalita, Raj
Koothrappali. (Raj starts to chase Howard across the room.) Yes it is good to talk to you too. So, what are you wearing? Oh, not important, so, anyhow, when would you like to meet? Friday works for me. And I call you with the time and place, but in the meantime, keep it real babe. (In own voice) You may now thank me.
걱장 마. 나한테 고마워 할 거야. 안녕 랄리타. 라즈 쿠스라팔리야. 그래, 뭐 입고 있어? 중요한 건 아니고, 어쨌든, 언제 만날래? 금요일 좋지. 시간 장소 정해서 전화할게. 그 동안 잘 지내. 이제 고마워해도 돼.

Raj: For what, making me sound like a Simpsons character?
뭘 고마워해? 사람 만화 캐릭터 만들어 놓고.
Howard: Fine, next time make your own date.
좋아, 다음 번엔 네가 직접 데이트 날짜 정해.
Raj: I didn’t want to make this one. 난 이 데이트는 하기 싫어.
Leonard: Look on the bright side, she might turn out to be a nice, beautiful girl.
긍정적으로 생각해, 알고 보면 착하고 예쁜 여자일 수도 있잖아.

Raj: Great, then we’ll get married, I won’t be able to talk to her, and we’ll spend the rest of our lives in total silence.
잘됐네, 그럼 결혼해서, 난 말도 못 붙이고, 평생 침묵 속에 살면 되겠네.
Howard: Worked for my parents. 우리 부모님은 그렇게 사셨는데.
Penny (knocking and entering): Hi guys. 안녕 얘들아.
Leonard: Oh, hey. 안녕.
Penny: I need some guinea pigs. 내가 실험용 쥐가 필요해서.
Sheldon: Okay, there’s a lab animal supply company in Reseda you could try, but if your research is going to have human applications, may I suggest white mice instead? Their brain chemistry is far closer to ours.
그래, 레세다에 실험실 동물 공급업체가 있어, 가봐. 네 연구가 인간에게 적용될 거라면 흰 쥐를 추천해도 될까? 뇌의 화학적 성질이 인간에 훨씬 더 가깝거든.
Penny: I swear to God, Sheldon, one day I’m going to get the hang of talking to you.
맹세하는데, 쉘든, 언젠가는 너와의 대화방법을 터득할거야.

/Using the computer isn't difficult once you get the hang of it.
컴퓨터 사용은 일단 터득만 하면 그다지 어렵지 않다.
Leonard: His mom’s been saying that for years. What’s up?
쉘든 어머니께서도 같은 말 몇 년째 하고 계셔. 무슨 일이야?
Penny: Well, I finally convinced the restaurant to give me a bar tending shift, so I need to practice making drinks.
드디어 식당에서 바텐더 자리 구했어. 그래서 칵테일 만드는 거 연습해야 해.
Leonard: Oh, great, well the key to acquiring proficiency in any task is repetition.
오, 잘 됐네, 무슨 일이든 숙달하는데 중요한 건 반복연습이지.
Sheldon: With certain obvious exceptions. Suicide, for example.
분명 예외도 있어, 예를 들면 자살 말이야.
Penny: So Leonard, how about it? 그래, 레너드, 어때?
Leonard: Look, Penny, we’d love to help you, but Raj is going through some stuff right now. And besides, he doesn’t drink, so… (Raj whispers in his ear) Really? Um, Raj is going through some stuff right now and he’d like to take up drinking.
페니, 도와 주고 싶은데, 라즈가 지금 무슨 일이 있어서. 거기다가 라즈는 술이 안 마셔, 그래서… 정말? 라즈가 지금 일이 있긴 하지만 술은 마시고 싶다는데.
