Mr. Ping: Not hungry? Po, are you all right?
안 고파? 포, 너 괜찮은 거지?
Po: Yeah. No, I'm fine. I just... Earlier today, I was fighting these bandits.
Nothing too dangerous. I mean, they were just, you know...
네. 아니, 저 괜찮아요. 난 그냥…오늘 아까, 산적들이랑 싸웠어요.
그렇게 위험하진 않았어요. 뭐, 그냥, 있잖아요…
Mr. Ping: Yeah? 응?
Po: And then the strangest thing happened. I had this crazy vision.
I think I saw my mom and me, as a baby.
근데 이상한 일이 벌어졌어요. 헛게 보이는 거에요.
엄마랑 아빠, 그리고 아기인 날 본 것 같아요.
Mr. Ping: Mom? A baby? 엄마? 아기?
Po: Dad? 아빠?
Mr. Ping: What...? 뭐…?
Po: How do I say this? Where did I come from?
이 말을 어떻게 해야 할 지. 전 어디서 왔죠?
Mr. Ping: Well, you see, son, baby geese come from a little egg.

나도 안다. 오래 전에 진작에 말해줬어야 할 것을 이제 말해 줘야지 싶다.

이 구문은 마땅히 무엇을 하여야 하는데 안하고 있을 때 ‘이제 해야지’ 라는 뜻을 나타냄.

알았으면 왜 아무 말 안 했어?
Po: Why didn't you say anything? How did I get here, Dad? Where did I come from?
아빤 왜 아무 말 안 하셨어요? 내가 어떻게 여기 왔죠? 어디서 온 거냐고요?

Mr. Ping: Actually... you came from this. It was just another day at the restaurant.
Time to make the noodles. I went out to the back, where my vegetables
had just been delivered. There were cabbages, turnips, radishes.
Only there were no radishes. Just a very hungry baby panda. There was no note.
Of course, you could have eaten it. I waited for someone to come looking for you,
but no one did. I brought you inside. Fed you. Gave you a bath. And fed you
again. And again. And tried to put some pants on you. And then I made a decision
that would change my life forever. To make my soup without radishes. And to raise
you as my own son. Xiao Po, my little panda. And from that moment on, both my
soup and my life have been that much sweeter. And, little Po, that's the end of the
story. Look at me. No, don't look at me.
사실…넌 여기서 왔단다. 그 날도 여느 날이나 다름없었다. 국수 만들 시간이 된 거지.
뒤 뜰로 나갔단다. 막 야채가 배달 돼 왔더구나. 양배추, 순무, 무. 근데 무는 없었어.
아주 배고픈 아기 팬더가 있었지. 쪽지도 없더구나. 물론, 네가 먹었을 수도 있지.
누군가 널 찾아 올 거라 기다렸어. 그런데 아무도 안 왔어. 널 안으로 데리고 들어왔다.
먹여주고. 목욕도 시켜주고. 또 먹이고. 또 먹이고. 바지도 입혀주려고 했단다.
그리고는 내 인생을 영원히 변화시킬 결심을 했지. 무 없이 수프를 만들기로 했다.
그리고 널 내 친 아들로 기르기도 했단다. 샤오 포, 내 귀여운 아기. 그 이후로 내
수프와 인생은 그렇게 달콤했단다. 그리고 사랑스런 포, 그게 끝이야. 날 보거라.
아니, 보지 마.

Mr. Ping: Oh, Po, your story may not have such a happy beginning,
but look how it turned out. You got me, you got kung fu,
and you got noodles.
포, 네 이야기 시작은 그렇게 행복하지 않을 지 몰라도,
하지만 결과가 어떤지 보거라.
넌 애비도 있고, 쿵푸도 익혔고, 국수도 만들잖니.
*Everything will turn out the best. 모든 일이 아주 잘될 거예요.
