Remy: Rats. AII we do is take, Dad. I'm tired of taking.
   I want to make things. I want to add something to this world.

          쥐들은 훔치기만 하잖아요. 난 훔치는데 질렸어요.
   뭔가를 만들고 싶다고요. 이 세상에 뭔가를 보태고 싶어요.        

Dad: You're talking like a human.
         인간처럼 말 하는구나.

Remy: Who are not as bad as you say.
           아빠 말처럼 나쁘지는 않아요.

Dad: Oh, yeah? What makes you so sure?
         오, 그래?  뭘 믿고 그런 말을 하는 거냐?

Emile: Oh, man. 오, 이런.

Remy: I've been able to observe them at a close-ish sort of range.

            사람들을 가까이서 관찰 할 수 있었어요.

*at long/ close short range 원[근]거리에서

Dad: Yeah? How close? 그래? 얼마나 가까이?

Remy: CIose enough. And they're, you know, not so bad as you say they are.

          충분히 가까이요. 그리고 그 사람들 아빠 말처럼 나쁘지는 않았어요.

Dad: Come with me. I got something I want you to see.

         따라 오너라. 보여 줄게 있다.

Emile: You know, I'm going to stay here.  
           전 그냥 여기 있을게요.

 

 

Skinner: Make sure the floors and countertops are clean before you lock up.

             문 잠그기 전에 바닥이랑 조리대 청소하는 거 잊지 마라.

*Make sure of the appointed time.약속 시간을 확인해라.

/ Make sure that the window is closed. 창문이 닫혔는지 확인해라.

Linguini: Wait. You want me to stay and clean?

             잠깐만요. 저더러 남아서 청소하라고요?

Skinner: Is that a problem? 문제 있나?

Linguini: No. 아뇨.

Skinner: Good boy. See you tomorrow. 좋았어. 내일 봐.

 

 

 

Dad: We're here. Take a good long look, Remy.
   Now, this is what happens when a rat gets a little too comfortable around humans.
   The world we live in belongs to the enemy. We must live carefully.
   We look out for our own kind, Remy.
   When all is said and done, we're all we've got.

       여기다. 잘 보거라, 레미. 사람 주변에서 맘 편히 있다간 저 꼴이 된다.
  우리가 사는 세상은 적들의 손에 있어. 조심하지 않으면 안 되지.
  우리는 우리가 지킨다, 레미. 결국, 우리가 가진 건 우리 자신 뿐이니까.

Remy: No. Dad, I don't believe it.
  You're telling me that the future is...can only be more of this?

         아니에요, 아빠. 그렇지 않아요. 
  우리 미래가 겨우 이 정도 밖에 안 된다는 건가요?

Dad: This is the way things are. You can't change nature.

        세상사가 그런 거야. 자연의 섭리를 바꿀 순 없어.

  This is how it crumbles cookie-wise. 《구어》 세상사란 다 그런 거야.

Remy: Change is nature, Dad. The part that we can influence.
   And it starts when we decide.

         바뀌는 게 섭리라고요. 우리가 영향을 줄 수 있는 부분이에요.
  우리가 마음 먹으면 변화는 시작 되는 거라고요.

Dad: Where you going?  어디로 가는 거냐?

Remy: With luck, forward. 행운을 안고, 앞으로요.
