Scene#3: The following morning. Sheldon is in the kitchen making breakfast. He crosses to the couch, sees Penny sleeping there, looks lost. He is about to sit down on Penny when Leonard enters.
Leonard: What are you doing? 무슨 짓이야?
Sheldon: Every Saturday since we have lived in this apartment, I have awakened at 6:15, poured myself a bowl of cereal, added a quarter cup of 2% milk, sat on this end of this couch, turned on BBC America and watched Doctor Who.
이 아파트에서 살게 된 후로 매주 토요일이면 난 6시 15분에 잠에서 깨서 시리얼 한 그릇에 2% 우유 4분의 1컵을 넣고 이 소파 이 끝자리에 앉아 BBC아메리카에서 방송되는 닥터후를 봤어.
Leonard: Penny’s still sleeping. 페니 아직 자잖아.

Leonard: I know, I know, look, you have a TV in your room, why don’t you just have breakfast in bed?
알아, 알아. 네 방에도 티브이 있잖아, 그냥 침대에서 아침 먹으면 안 돼?
Sheldon: Because I am neither an invalid nor a woman celebrating Mother’s Day.
난 병자도 아니고 어버이 날 맞은 아줌마도 아니거든.
*미국에서는 어머니 날(5월 둘째 일요일) 과 아버지 날(6월의 셋째 일요일)을 따로 기념함. 어린이 날은 굳이 따로 없음.
Penny: Uh, what time is it? 어, 몇 시야?
Leonard: Almost 6:30. 6시 반 다 됐어.
Penny: I slept all day? 내가 하루 종일 잔 거야?
Leonard: Oh, no, it’s 6:30 in the morning. 아니, 아침 6시 반이야.
Penny: What the hell is your problem? 너희들 무슨 문제 있는 거야?
Sheldon: Okay, this cereal has lost all its molecular integrity, I now have a bowl of shredded wheat paste.
좋아, 이 시리얼은 분자로서 고결함을 상실했어, 슈레디드 휘트나 먹어야겠다.
*슈레디드 휘트: 잘게 탄 밀을 재료로 해서 비스킷 모양으로 구운 것; 아침 식사용.
Howard (entering): Hola, nerd-migos. 안녕, 공부밖에 모르는 친구들.
*hola = hello, amigo = friends
Penny: Why do you people hate sleep? Are you wearing my robe?
너희들은 왜 잠이 싫은 거야? 너 내 가운 입은 거야?
Howard: Oh, yeah, sorry, I’ll have it cleaned. 오, 미안, 세탁해 줄게.
Penny: That’s okay, keep it. Where’s Christie?
괜찮아, 너 가져. 크리스티는 어딨어?
Howard: In the shower. Oh, by the way, where did you get that loofah mitt? Yours reaches places that mine just won’t.
샤워 중이야. 근데, 수세미 장갑은 어디서 샀어?
내건 안 그런데 구석구석 잘 닦이던데.
*=a scrubbing brush
Penny: Y-you used my loofah? 내 수세미장갑도 쓴 거야?
Howard: More precisely we used your loofah. I exfoliated her brains out!
정확히 말하면 우리가 쓴 거지. 크리스티 뇌에 붙은 각질도 제거했어.
Penny: You can keep that too. 그것도 너 가져.
Howard: chka-chka-chka-chka-chka-chka-chka (they kiss). 칙폭 칙폭.
Sheldon: Well there’s one beloved children’s book I’ll never read again.
좋아하는 동화책이지만 다시는 안 읽을 거야.
Christie: Hi, Christie.
Leonard: Leonard.
Sheldon: I’m Sheldon.
Christie: Right, you’re Howard’s entourage. 네, 당신 하워드 수행원이죠.
Penny: Uh, so Christie, what are your plans? 그래 크리스티 앞으로 계획은 뭐야?
Christie: Oh, well, Howard said he’d take me shopping in Beverley Hills.
히워드가 베버리 힐즈에서 쇼핑 시켜 준댔어.
Penny: Yeah, no, I meant plans to find some place to live. Other than with me, not that I don’t love having you, but it’s… a little crowded.
아니, 내 말은 살 집 구할 계획 말이야. 나랑 말고, 너랑 있는 게 싫다는 게 아니라, 그게 좀… 비좁잖아.
*He doesn't eat out at all, other than at Burger King. 그는 버거킹에서만 외식을 한다.
Leonard: Penny, you’re always welcome to stay with us.
페니, 넌 언제나 환영이야.
Sheldon: Oh, terrific, now we’re running a cute little B&B.
대단하다, 이제 민박집도 운영하려고?

Howard: Let me offer a little outside the box thinking here. Why doesn’t Christie stay with me?
새로운 관점에서 생각해 보자고. 크리스티가 나랑 살면 되잖아?

Leonard: For one thing, you live with your mother.
우선, 넌 엄마한테 얹혀 살잖아.
Howard: I do not, my mother lives with me.
아냐, 엄마가 나한테 얹혀 사는 거야.
Sheldon: Well then, it’s all settled, Christie will stay with Howard, Penny can go back to her apartment, and I’ll watch the last 24 minutes of Doctor Who, although at this point it’s more like Doctor Why Bother.
그럼 해결됐네. 크리스티는 하워드랑 살고, 페니는 자기 집으로 돌아가고,
난 닥터후 마지막 24분 분량 보고, 뭐 이 정도 시간이 지나 시점에서는 닥터후 애써 볼일도 없지만.
Leonard: Sheldon you just can’t dictate…쉘든 그냥 명령하듯…
Sheldon: No more talking, everybody go. 대화 끝. 다들 가.
Howard: So, what do you say, you wanna repair to Castle Wolowitz?
그래, 어때, 왈로위츠 캐슬에 갈까?
*What do you say? 당신 생각은 어떻습니까?; (권유) 어떻습니까?
*(옛투) repair to A [A(장소)에] (많은 사람이) 가다; 자주 다니다; 모이다
/We repair to the lounge for drinks at seven.
우리는 술을 마시기 위해 7시에 그 라운지에 모이기로 되어 있다.
Christie: What is that, like a Mexican deli?
그게 뭔데, 멕시코 식당 같은 거야?
Howard: I’m sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier, my last name is Wolowitz.
미안, 말해줬어야 헸는데, 내 성이 왈로위츠야.
Christie: Oh, that’s so cool. My first Jew!
멋지다, 내 첫 번째 유대인 남자네!
Sheldon: I imagine there aren’t many kosher corn-huskers.
네브라스카에는 유대인들이 많이 없나 보네.
*kosher [유대교] (특히 음식물 이 계율에 따라) 적정하게 처리된; 먹는[쓰는] 것이 허락된; [상점 등이] 정결한 식품을 팔고 있는/ a kosher shop 정결한 식품을 파는 가게.
/ kosher는 '유태인의 율법에 따른'이라는 뜻이고 cornhusker는 옥수수 껍질 까는 기계인데 네브래스카Nebraska(극중 크리스티의 고향)주민들의 별칭이다. Kosher Cornhusker는 유태인인 네브래스카주민을 뜻한다. 페니에 따르면 크리스티는 오마하Omaha에 있는 많은 남자와 잤는데도 하워드가 같이 잔 첫 번째 유태인이라는 점에서 '네브래스카에는 유태인이 많이 없나 보네요'라는 느낌으로 비꼬는 문장이다.
Christie: But you’re still taking me shopping, right?
그래도 쇼핑 시켜줄 거지?
Howard: Anything you want. 뭐든지.
Christie: Okay, I’ll go pack my stuff. 좋아, 가서 짐 챙길게.
Howard: When they perfect human cloning, I’m going to order twelve of those.
인간복제가 완성되면 열 둘은 주문할 거야.
Leonard: Howard, can’t you see she’s using you?
하워드, 널 이용하고 있다는 걸 모르겠어?
Howard: Who cares, last night she pulled off her blouse and I wept!
알게 뭐야, 어제 밤 크리스티가 블라우스 벗는데 울어 버렸다고.
Penny: Look, Howard, I know her, okay, she’ll have sex with anyone as long as they keep buying her things.
하워드, 내가 쟬 알아. 누구든 뭘 계속 사주기만 하면 다 같이 자.
Howard: Really? 정말?
Penny: Yeah. 응.
Howard: Yay! If you’ll excuse me, I have some Bar-Mizvah bonds to cash.
앗싸! 그럼 실례. 성인식 선물로 받은 채권 현금으로 바꿔야 해서.
*[유대교] 바르미츠바: 13세 남자의 성인식.
Howard: Ah, well then we’ll probably need to talk about your stuffed bear collection.
그럼 네 곰인형 얘기도 해야겠는데.
Christie (voice off): Howard? 하워드?
Howard: In here my lady. 나 여기 있어요 나의 여인.
Christie (entering): Mmmm, there’s my little engine that could.
음, 거기 내 작은 기관차가 있네.
*the little engine that could 분발해서 완수해 내는 사람(※그림책의 소기관차에서).
