He totally acts the part of the adoring husband,
which actually scares Ah-jung because it’s so out of character.
현 기준: 도와줄까? Should I help you?
공 아정: 왜요? Why?
현 기준: 왜라니? 남편한테.
What do you mean ‘why’? I’m your husband.
[She mutters.]
공 아정: 왜 그래요? 무섭게.
Why are you doing this? It’s scary.
뭐 하자는 거에요, 지금?
What are you doing now?
현 기준: 연극. Acting.
여긴 무대고…This is the stage…
나 꽤 괜찮은 배우거든.
And I’m not that bad of an actor, you know.
자 여러분 식사들 하세요.
Everyone, let’s all eat.
많이 배고프시죠? 앉으세요.
You must be hungry, right? Please have a seat.
자, 여기 있습니다. Here.
친구: 좀 도와줄까? Do you need any help?
공 아정: 아니야, 다 됐어. No, it’s fine.
친구: 집안 일도 도와 주시나 봐요.
Looks like you also help with the housework.

열심히 일하고 집안일이나 정원일을 도와 줍니다.
현 기준: 예, 손에 물 묻히는 게 싫더라구요.

[Ah-Jung’s face expresses perplexity.]
현 기준: 괜찮아? Are you okay?
이리 줘. Give it to me.
친구: 이 걸 너 혼자 다한 거야?
You did all this by yourself?
공 아정: 어, 한다고 했는데, 맛은 보장 못해.
Uh, I tried hard but I can’t vouch for the taste.

현 기준: 네 저도 처음 먹어봐요.
This is the first time I’ve tried this.
[He feeds her adoringly.]
아. Come on.
친구: 근데 이거 영 안 해 본 솜씨가 아닌데.
Wait. This isn’t the standard of someone who has never done it before.

친구: 혹시 따로 요리 배우니?
You are not taking cooking lessons, right?
공 아정: 아니, 시간 없어.
No. I don’t have time.
재범: 아정이 원래 요리 잘해요.
Ah Jung has always been a good cook.
설날 교수님 댁에 세배 가면 아정이가 떡국 끓여 주거든요.
When we visited the professor on New Year’s day,
Ah Jung cooked rice cake soup that time.
아 진짜 맛있어요.
