한이수:  상어는 부레가 없어.

Sharks don’t have a swim bladder.

 

조해우:  그럼 어떻게 살아?

Then how do they live?

 

한이수:  살기 위해선 끊임없이 움직여야 된대.

To live, they have to keep on moving endlessly.

멈추면 죽으니까.

If they stop moving, they will die.

자면서도 움직여야 상어는 살 수가 있어.

Even when they are asleep, they have to keep moving to stay alive.

 

조해우:  대게 피곤하게 사는 거네.

They sure do live a tiresome life.

 

한이수:  그래도 바다에선 상어가 제일 강해.

Still, in the ocean, the shark is the strongest.

 

조해우:  그래서 상어를 좋아하는 거야?

So is the reason you like sharks?

상어가 강하니까?

Because sharks are strong?

 

한이수:  아니, 불쌍해서.

No, because they’re pitiful.

아무도 상어를 좋아하지 않을 것 같아서.

Because it doesn’t seem as if anyone would like sharks.

 

조해우:  넌 만약 내가 사라지면 어떡할 거야?

Then, hypothetically, what would you do if I disappear?

 

한이수:  찾아야지. I’d have to find you.

 

조해우:  만약 찾을 수 없으면?

What if you can’t find me?

 

한이수:  반드시 찾을 수 있어.

I can find you no matter what.

 

조해우:  어떻게?  How?

어떻게 찾을 건데?

How will you find me?

 

한이수:  죽을 때까지 널 찾을 거니까.

Because, till I die, I will be looking for you.

널 찾기 전엔 난 죽지도 못 할 거니까.

Because I won’t even be able to die before I find you.
