태산: 대한민국 16강 진출 자막 뜰 때 나 울었다.

        I cried when the Korean team made it to the final 16.

 

도진: 그때만 해도 우리나라 선수가 EPL 에서 뛸 줄 누가 상상이나 했겠냐?

        Who knew back then that a Korean player would play in the EPL?

        진짜 자랑스럽다 지성이형.

        I’m so proud of my older brother, Park Ji Sung.

 

윤: 형? Your older brother?

 

도진: 프리미어 리그에서 뛰면 형이야.

        If he’s on the premier league, he’s my older brother.

       요즘 내 영웅이다. He’s my hero.

태산: 어, 왔어? You’re here?

 

도진: 경기 시작했어. The game has started.

 

윤: 웬 케이크? What’s the cake for?

 

정록: 야 모여봐. Come here.

       태권브이야. 대박이지?

       It’s Tae Kwon V. So cool, right?

 

태산: 너 아직도 로보트 못 땠냐?

        You’re still into robots?

*"What does your brother do after dinner?" "He's into computer games."

「네 동생은 저녁식사 후에 무얼 하니?」「컴퓨터 게임에 빠져 있어.」

 

정록: 로봇이 뭐야? 내 유년시절 영웅한테.

        This is not just any robot. He’s my childhood hero.

 

윤: 야, 이거 보니까 생각난다. This reminds me…

    어렸을 때 왜, 남산에서 레이저 쏘면

    We used to believe that when a laser was shot from Nam San,

    그게 63빌딩에 반사돼서

    It would reflect off the 63 Building,

    국회 지붕이 열리면서 태권브이가 출동한다는 얘기가 있었잖아.

    making the dome of the National Assembly building open

    and Tae kwon V would appear.

 

정록: 나 지금도 진심 기다려.

       I’m still waiting for that moment.

       지구가 위험해 지면 나와.

       He’ll come out when the world is in trouble.

 

태산: 진짜 그런 얘기 있었지.

        Yeah, they used to say that.

       어렸을 때 내가 진짜 지구를 지킬 줄 알았다.

        When I was a kid, I really thought I could protect the world.

 

도진(나레이션) : 마흔 하나가 된 우린 지금

                     As 41 year old men,

                    지구는커녕, 사랑하는 여자 하나 제대로 지키지 못하고

                    forget about protecting the world,

                    we can’t even protect the women we love.

                    하루하루 살아가기가 바쁜 반영웅적 남자들로 살고 있다.

                    We live as half heroes who can barely keep up with day to day business.

                    영웅이 되고 싶었던 그 소년들은 다 어디로 갔을까?

                    What happened to the boys that wanted to become heroes?

                    우리는 과연 누구의 영웅이 될 수 있을까?

                    Who can we become a hero to?
