주인공들의 다투는 모습이 저로선 참 재미있고 귀엽습니다.

이은재: 왜 벌써 와? 모임 있다더니.

Why are you home so early?

You said you have a gathering today.

 

연형우: 아, 취소됐어.  Ah, it was canceled.

 

이은재: 어떻게 그렇게 도망을 가?

How could you run away like that?

 

연형우: 누가 도망을 가? 끝난 거 아니었어?

Who ran away? Wasn’t it finished?

 

이은재: 누군 인터뷰 하고 싶어서 해?

You think I did the interview because I wanted to?

희망 사정도 안 좋고 전세 대출금도 못 갚았고.

Our law firm Hope is in a difficult situation,
            and we still have to pay back our bank loans.

왜? 뭐? Why? What?

 

연형우: 어떻게 사람이 화낼 때 더 섹시해?

You look sexy even when you’re angry.  

 

이은재: 내가 좀 그렇지… 이럴 줄 알았냐?

That’s the way I am…you think I was gonna say this?

그런 말 연애 때나 속지 이제 안 속거든.

I would fall for that kind of sweet talk when we began courting,

but not any more.

 

연형우: 에혀, 이은재 감성 다 죽었네.

Oh my! You’ ve let your romantic emotions die.   

 

이은재: 내 말 다 안 끝났다. I’m not done yet.

자꾸 그렇게 직무유기하면…

If you keep neglecting your duties…

연형우: 주말에 모아서 듣자. 나 지금 피곤해.  

You can do all the nagging in a lump this weekend.

이은재: 그래, 피곤하시겠지. 남들만 돕느라 얼마나 피곤…

Right, you must be tired. Helping only others makes you feel really tired…

[She remembers their apartment is all messed up and tries to stop him.]

피곤할 때 술이 최곤데.

Nothing beats alcohol for tiredness.

*Nothing beats word of mouth for finding reputable workers.

훌륭한 작업자를 만나려면 입소문 이상 좋은 게 없어.

소주현 불러서 소주나 마시지. 아님 고기찬 불러서 고기를 먹든지.

Why don’t you call So Ju Hyun around here and drink So-ju with him?

Or have some go-gi, or meat with Go Gi Chan.

 

연형우: 쾌적한 우리 집에서 쉬고 싶은데.

I want to take a good rest at my home sweet home.

[She hurries to get on the elevator ahead of him.]

연형우: 나 출장 간 사이 혼자 있었어?

Were you alone while I was away on business?

 

이은재: 혼자 있지 그럼, 누구랑 있어?

Of course I was alone. Who do you think I was with?

 

연형우: 혼자, 그것도 나흘 만에 집을 이렇게 만들 수 있는 거야?

How could a single person create this much mess?

And that happened in a few days?

 

 

이은재: 그 동안 나도 너무 바빠서.

I’ve been so busy this whole time.

 

연형우: 이 변?  Lawyer Lee?

 

이은재: 왜 연 변?  Why, lawyer Yeon?

 

연형우: 사시공부 할 때 환경법 빼먹었나?

Did you miss out on Environmental Law

when you’re preparing for the bar exam?

사람은 누구나 건강하고 쾌적한 환경에서 살 권리가 있어.

Everyone has the right to live in a healthy and pleasant environment.

 

이은재: 그래서 이렇게 치우잖아.

That’s why I am cleaning up the house now.

 

연형우: 볼수록 대범한 여자네. What a woman!

어차피 돌릴 세탁물 한큐에 해결하고,

You do the laundry in the gross anyhow, 

어차피 버릴 쓰레기 과감하게 모으고,

When you have to take out the trash,
            you just let the trash stacked up.

어차피 마실 물 설거지 거리 확 줄이고.

When you drink some water,

you drink it out of the bottle to reduce the washing up.

 

이은재: 사람이 실수할 때도 있지.

Everyone makes mistakes.

 

연형우: 실수 하지 말라고 친절하게 써 붙여 놓은 것도 못 봤어?

Haven’t you seen the post-its to remind you to keep the place tidy?

 

이은재: 나 이런 거 모르고 결혼했어?
